I’m an arts writer, educator, researcher and public programmer living and working on unceded Bidjigal and Gadigal Country in Sydney, Australia.

What I’ve come to call an intermediary arts practice is a body of work that focuses on informal, youth-centred engagement programs, community building, museum best practice and arts partnerships. I have worked for organisations including the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, the South London Gallery, Kaldor Public Art Projects, the Biennale of Sydney and the National Gallery of Australia.

My research includes a 2018 Churchill Fellowship to investigate different models of informal learning and youth-led engagement, as well as contributions to publications including Museum Teen Program How-To Kit (Walker Art Center, 2023) and the forthcoming Looking at Youth Programs in Art Museums from an International Perspective (Routledge, 2026).

I also write regularly for publications including Art Guide Australia, Artlink and ABC Arts, with a commitment to centring artist’s voices and the possibilities of creative thinking.

I’m driven by an enthusiastic belief in art and artists’ capacity to negotiate and inspire new ways of understanding ourselves and the world around us and my work is defined by values of:

  • Collaboration & generosity

  • Creative risk-taking

  • Community building

  • Transparency

  • Lifelong learning

In all its guises, my work strives to illuminate these ideas and values for a wide range of audiences, and to help artists and cultural organisations do the same.

Art is a way to imagine the world otherwise.
